Recognition
- a vigorous perennial climber with branched tendrils and hook-like branch tips.
- its leaves with leaflets in 2-3 opposite pairs.
- its inflorescence with buds on an erect stalk but the stalk pendant when flowering.
- its flowers large (6-7 cm long), bell-shaped, green at first but purple when flowering.
- its fruit a capsule 3-8.5 cm long, with winged seeds 1-1.5 cm long
