 Recognition
  • a shrub or small bushy tree up to 4 m high with prominent leaf scars on the stems.
  • its leaves are alternate, strongly lobed, up to 60 cm long, and usually toothed but sometimes entire.
  • its inflorescence is terminal and has numerous small flowers with white petals 2.5-3 mm long.
  • its fruit are a black, rounded berry 5-8 mm wide.
