 Recognition
  • a robust, bulbous perennial plant, with purple-brown stems up to 120 cm high and the bulb 5-10 cm across.
  • its numerous narrow leaves are up to 15 cm long, dark green, and there are bulbils in the axils of the upper leaves.
  • its nodding flowers number 1-15 a stem and are bright orange-red with many purple-black spots.
