 Recognition
  • a scrambling or sprawling climber with stems up to 15 m long..
  • its leaves are often lobed (usually up to 9 cm long), and sometimes with a few simple hairs.
  • its flowers are few to several in small clusters, 2-3.3 cm across, and the petals are white or pale mauvish blue.
  • its fruit is a berry, usually rounded, shining, and dark blue ro nearly black.
