 Description

Perennial or annual herbs; rhizome short, or roots fibrous or tuberous. Leaves all basal, linear, 3-angled or tubular. Scape simple, or branched and bracteate; inflorescence a raceme or panicle. Flowers white or pink, pedicellate, bracteate; segments ± equal, free or ± connate at base, spreading above, 1-nerved. Capsule subglobose, leathery, loculicidal. Seeds triquetrous.
