 Recognition
  • a large woody tree up to 25 m high with spreading branches and stout hairy branchlets.
  • its leaves are opposite, thick,with dense white hairs beneath, and up to 10 cm long.
  • its inflorescence is a rounded cyme and the flowers have conspicuous crimson stamens 3-4 cm long.
  • its capsules are 7-9 mm long, covered with dense with greyish hairs, and contain numerous minute seeds.
