 Recognition
  • an evergreen, bushy shrub up to 2 m high, often suckering and forming dense thickets.
  • its leaves are up to 3.4 cm long, rounded, leathery, dark green above, and shiny.
  • its flowers occur singly in the leaf axils, are pendant, and with pale pink petals.
  • its fruit are 0.8-1.4 mm across, rounded, and rose or dark purplish red.
