Synonymy:
AOTEAROA / NEW ZEALAND, Te Ika a Maui / North Island, South Auckland, near Atiamuri,19 January 1929, K.W. Allison s.n. (holotype: MEL2067499 !; isotype CHR333534 [n.v.]).
Etymology:
This species is named for Ms Luzie Schmid (1999−) from Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. Luzie is so honoured here for her assistance with field work on this species and other indigenous Aotearoa / New Zealand taxa, notably Leptospermum J.R.Forst. & G.Forst. and, also, with the analysis of Lagenophora specimens used in this study and held in Aotearoa / New Zealand herbaria.
