 Description

Biennial or perennial herbs. Lvs alternate, the lower forming basal rosettes. Racemes long, often secund. Calyx lobes 5, equal, < corolla tube. Corolla usually declined or nodding; tube cylindric to ± globose and inflated; limb ± 2-lipped; lips patent to ± erect, the upper shorter than lower and usually less prominent. Stamens 4, usually included. Capsule septicidal, ovoid to conic. Seeds very numerous, patterned; wing 0.
